Home Restoration Raise Her Sails Maiden Voyage Email Me	In March 2013 I picked up this 1973 Cal 21 sailboat (hull #467) that I found on Craigslist near Flint, MI. I knew going in that it was a "project" boat and I thought to myself, no problem! I'm good with my hands and have completed many projects before, and plus this boat came with two sets of sails and a spinnaker, so I figured the sail inventory was worth as much, or more, than what I paid for the whole package, trailer included. She doesn't look too bad on the outside. The hull and deck are solid but could certainly use a good scrubbing and some new paint. The cabin interior? Well that's another story... Like many other Cal 21's I've read about online, it seems that it's not uncommon for the interiors to have some wood rot problems, and as you can see, this one is certainly no exception! The V-berth is still solid, but both cabinets and bunks were totally rotted away. The bulkheads under the cockpit were also long gone. Maybe a bigger project that I had anticipated? This is just part of the debris from the interior demolition tossed overboard as I worked...
