Home Restoration Raise Her Sails Maiden Voyage Email Me |
Ok... time for our Maiden Voyage! Here we launched her in at Port Sanilac, MI. I was relieved to see that she floats! That's my buddy Todd in the photo. He's been sailing all his life, and I was happy he was with me for this sail. You can see that I have a trolling motor mounted on the back to get us in and out of the harbor. Not a lot of wind, but just right for a Maiden Voyage for me! Everything went smoothly with the exception of the open keel hole in the cockpit floor. Cold Lake Huron water occasionally splashed up and hit our feet. I have since made a cover for the keel hole to take care of that. Also the swing keel pivot bolt leaks a little, but nothing I'm going to worry about. That's me in the pics below enjoying my "new" sailboat! Here's some more pics from the summer of 2013 There's a lot more that I did when fixing up Sea-Riously...? Too much to list here at this time. But, I'm sure I'll update this page ocassionally with more as I recall it! Here's some pics from the summer of 2014. Notice the new teak hand rails, main sail cover and Nissan outboard. Plus I added a small solar charger. A really short video... Things I'd like to do this off-season... 1. Fix the mast track - first and foremost! 2. Install a new adjustable motor mount 3. Install a sound system 4. Install air vents in the cabin 5. Paint below the water line 6. Buy/make a boom vang - Done! 7. Fix bow lights (they stopped working for whatever reason) - Done! 8. Install cabin ceiling fabric 9. Re-bed deck hardware 10. I'm sure I'll think of more 11. I'm sure I won't get to all of this list... |
