Raise Her Sails

Maiden Voyage

Email Me

After pulling the sails out of their bags and laying them out, I noticed the mainsail that matched the hull (#467) had a bolt rope setup. The other mainsaill, #457, had slides. I'll be using the #457 and keeping #467 as a backup.

This is when I rigged her to run all the lines back to the cockpit. So I installed the blocks and the cleats to lock them down. I also replaced both halyards and sheets with brand new line.

Ok... now it's time to raise her sails. Sea-Riously...? came with 2 head sails, a small jib with hanks, and a larger one with no hanks. The pics are with the smaller jib. The halyard rigging hardware worked flawlessly! However, the sloppy track repair in the mast didn't let the main raise without getting stuck a couple times. I'll need to fix that because that's been a real pain in the a** while heading out.

But overall, I'm happy with how everything is turning out so far...
